Thanks for posting this! It is fascinating to see the previews version of this number. There's a segment in the PBS documentary that shows Andy (the choreographer) changing it from this version to the version I saw after opening.
One thing he said about changing it was that he was trying to find more "unity" in the dance moves. I also noticed that Junah (Tessie) came out from cleaning the bathroom with a gas mask on and uttered "Oh my goodness!". Shame they took that bit out, but I suppose they felt that the bathroom humor was a bit too much.
