Emily Rudolph has been cast in the equity national tour of A Christmas Story the Musical. This show first opened in Kansas City and then premiered at the Seattle 5th Ave Theater last year. Emily originally auditioned to be in the premiere but then bowed out during callbacks to accept the lead as Annie at a different theater. She received a personal request from Ian Isendrath, Music Director for A Christmas Story, to audition for the national tour. That was an honor she could not turn down. Martin Charnin and his wife Shelly encouraged Emily to pursue this opportunity and continued to mentor her and her family thorough this process.
The cast starts rehearsing October 10, 2011 in Chicago for 3 weeks before heading to Hershey, PA to begin their tour. Check out www.achristmasstorythemusical.com for tour cities and information. Emily is excited to return to Chicago as that was one of her favorite places on the Annie tour about 2 years ago.
Emily continues count her blessings of the wonderful opportunities that has been provided to her this year. Besides being cast in local community theater productions of Brigadoon, 13 the Musical, Wizard of Oz, and her first dramatic equity play called Severed Strings, she will appear in two movies currently in post production: Ira Finkelstein's Christmas starring David DeLuis and Elliott Gould, and a short SAG movie called Forced Entry which will hopefully be screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
