I totally agree with you Jamey. I mean the show IS about a 50 year old man and 11 year old little girl. Like a Father and Daughter OF COURSE.
So, why should this situation be any different?
I think it's more odd to have two teenagers playing Annie and Warbucks. (which was the case of course when I did it in high school)

Jenny, I don't think LeeLee is commenting on the fact that Annie looked too much like an adult. I think she is referring to the fact that an adult man not affiliated with the school was cast to play Warbucks at a Catholic Girls school. If "this" is indeed "kinda funny in a sick perverted sort of way" then the very story is flawed. We all know that the plot revolves around an 11 year old orphan who is adopted by an unmarried 50-something man. Being an adult man who does a lot of Community Theatre, Dinner Theatre and Professional Theatre, who has many normal, healthy, respectful, APPROPRIATE associations with children, I don't find it sick or preverted, nor did the show's director (an Equity actor) nor did the school's principal (A Jesuit nun) nor any of the cast, NOR any any of the audience members, including Dana's mother. In fact, the comment I heard most was "how wonderful it is for our girls to get to perform with a professional actor".

I know I started at topic about older Annies......something I think is very important with them is to keep the make-up as subtle as possible and nothing like nail polish on!

Well, to you, maybe. Lest we not forget, Warbucks is in his 50s and adpots an 11 year old girl. Just so you know, I am a public high school teacher, and in order to become one, I get fingerprinted and background checked twice a year. Plus, I had to do my "Virtues, which is additional morally enriching activities before they would let me into the show.
