Allison Smith (Annie) Allison, just 11, is the 4th to play this coveted role in the Broadway production since it opened in 1977, and the third from NJ. She is the youngest of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Smith's six children and has three other brothers and two older sisters. Her only previous professional appearance was in the children's chorus of Evita for a few weeks. Her parents didn't know she could sing until the Christmas before last when she sang some Annie songs in her school's (Traphagen) holiday show, which lead to roles in community productions of Gypsy, and The Sound of Music. She has begun to study voice with Shirley Lemmon and loves sports, especially soccer, football, and softball, all of which she plays when time allows.
